It is the weekend, yet again, which means that now is the perfect time to plan your job search for next week.  In workshops, we often talk about the importance of setting goals to help you keep focused on the future and your job hunt.

Warmer weather is a perfect reason to hit the pavement in search of jobs.  It is also a good time to reexamine your employment goals.  Are you finding that you've been applying for jobs, and yet you still feel like something is holding you back?  Well, then it may be the perfect time to hit up some opportunities in the community.  Michigan Works has some great workshops and programs to help refresh your job search skills.  The Ann Arbor Library also has free computer workshops to help you expand your online job searching skills.  These are great resources in the community, so please take advantage of them!  Good luck!

The weekend is here yet again!  Below are some ideas on how to make the most of time on the weekend for job hunting, cold calling, and computer classes.

The weekend is finally here!  For a lot of us the weekend is a time of rest and relaxation, but don't forget to spend at least 1 to 3 hours Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on the job hunt.  

Remember:  Finding a job is a full-time job.  

A lot of employers will take the weekend to post job listings or review applications sent in.  This is also a good time to cold call employers to see if they hire people with a felony background and to check up on applications you have already sent in.

Try to keep in mind that applying for jobs is only half of the battle.  You should always check back with employers in a couple of weeks once you have turned in the application.

Finding a job is a full-time job.  It takes time.  Try to stay positive and good luck!
